Note: I know this is an old thread, and am just posting to help anyone else who stumbles upon this thread.
- Note: For peppy's Wineskin, if it fails to open, you must run sudo xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine 'osu!app' in Terminal. Or Wineskin will not open! Of my guide for more details. If you're uncomfortable with using a file downloaded from a complete stranger (and you should be) you can follow my guide here to obtain (mostly) the same.
- Wineskin is a tool used to make ports of Windows software to Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard (or later). The ports are in the form of normal Mac application bundle wrappers. It works like a wrapper around the Windows software, and you can share just the wrappers if you choose (that is the strategy used here).
First of all: Wine (just plain wine) is NOT available for Mac, so that leave you with Wineskin, WineBottler, PlayOnMac, or CrossOver.
So, without any further ado, let’s get started and install Steam on your Mac!!! Install Wineskin Winery. This little gem is quickly becoming my favorite way to use Wine on Mac OS X. Wineskin is simple, fast and it’s easy. Everything is put together for you in a nice tidy little.
Wineskin and WineBottler are intended for creating wrappers, which is basically converting it to a Mac application.
Wineskin gives you more customization over your wrapper.

WineBottler also comes with a system that lets you just run any exe on mac just like that.
PlayOnMac lets you download and run supported apps easily, but isn't good for just any exe.
CrossOver is paid software.
